Yesterday, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Honourable Marco Mendicino, announced the Canadian new immigration targets for the next three years.
The announcement underlines the crucial role immigrants have in contributing to the Canadian economy, by filling labour market gaps and by helping Canada to remain competitive on the world market.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic and the current travel restrictions, Canada is planning to welcome more than 1 million of new permanent resident immigrants by 2023:
401,000 in 2021, 411,000 in 2022 and 421,000 in 2023
This target will bring the number of new immigrants to unprecedented level.
A great part of the program will be reached by improving admissions from the economic class.

Regardless of the delays and inconveniences caused by the pandemic, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continues to accept and process applications.
If moving to Canada is in your plans, this is the moment: prepare your documents and be ready.
